Amp settings?

I'm not sure if anyone can help with this or not, but here it goes.

I have a Marshall MG30 DFX amp. What is a good setting for an early Iron Maiden sound. ( ie Charlotte the Harlot)

its prolly a dumass question but any help is greatly appreciated.

There's actually a thread on UG called the ultimate settings thread, which is a really good launching point if you're trying to match a particular artist's sound.

The Iron Maiden one is something like this:
Drive - 7
Treble - 9
Mid - 7
Bass - 4

EQ Settings

I have

Gain
Bass
Treble
Contour

im guessing gain is the same as drive, but what would contour be?
and i dont have mid

What kind of crap are they putting on Amps nowadays? It seems to me (after taking a look at the amp) that by Contour, they mean Mid. And yeah, Gain is basically interchangeable with Drive.

Keep in mind that these are just starting points, since the amp will probably have a different sound than the one that Dave Mustaine used.
