Has anyone used one of these, or anything similar?

Nope, but it looks like a good unit. I've been considering buying a 4-track or 8-track recorder after I get my new guitar.

I have an old 4 track also Tascam but it's cassette. I have been recording with the computer but sometimes you get distracted by browsers and forums and wavy lines scrolling across. But the nice thing about the tascam is it removes you form the computer and forces you to use your ears not your eyes.

what guitar are you looking at getting?

Either a Gibson 335 or a D'Angelico EX-DC.

Nice, Hollow bodies then?

I like the PRS hollow or the gretch under $700. I got this new job that offers bonuses so I'm hopping I'll have a bigger musical budget.

Yep, looking for a good jazz hollow-body that can handle blues and funk. I've played a few Gretsch's, and they sounded nice, but once you get up into the $1200 - $1500 range, they just can't compete.

I thought about getting the Tascam 4-track but Telecrater said it was not too good. Anyways I just bought a ZoomH4 off ebay.

Sorry, haven't got any experience with it. It looks pretty decent, though.

I mean, I'm using the obsolete Roland VS-880, and I'm perfectly happy with it.
