Well, it'll help you with matching pitches, but it won't give you a good singing voice if you don't already have one! :P

From a video game standpoint, I think Guitar Hero is the better game.

A friend of mine has Rock Band-it's definitely fun, I don't know how much it's going to help your singing, though. I can't do the singing parts in it to save my life either :(

Apparently guitar hero iv is gonna be like rock band but they said it is going to be better.
It sounds like it will be good because it is gonna have a nice track list.
One thing about Guitar Hero I was thinking about is "can it help you with singing and playing?" for instance, I always am playing Fat Lip on Guitar Hero (first one) and I know all the words to it so I sing and play. I was wondering if that is one thing that game can help you with.

I am like godly at Guitar Hero nad Rock Band meaning like best in my grade in my school, true GH4 will shitkick Rock Band but Rock Band taught me to drum you know, I think my biggest problems are the kickpedal and unresponsive drum pads, I also have a non responsive strum bar on the Rock Band controller so some issues there, but all in all I'd say its one of the best games I've ever played

I've never played Rock Band, I don't really like Guitar Hero. I'm pretty bad at it. They have GH tournaments at my school though, and I know some teachers (well, kinda like teachers. They are staff, but they mostly build sets for the plays and stuff) who hook a PS2 up to the projector in the theater and play guitar hero on it.

They usually only do it when there's no school going on though, like on Winter Vacation and stuff, so I'm usually out of town when they do it.

Well, I think that those games are fun at times, but I agree that the people who brag about how they can play all the songs on expert at hyperspeed are annoying. There's some people like that in my school.

There's this one guy (we'll call him Mullet Man, since he has a greasy ass mullet) who brags about how he beats all the songs. And on his iPod, all Mullet Man has are songs from Guitar Hero. Poor, misguided Mullet Man... :(

But if people realize that these are just games, I think that they can be considered alright. But some people take it too far, and all they do is play Guitar Hero. If they had practiced real guitar during all the time they spent playing, they could be decent players.

I read a funny web comic like that once.

"People thought I had great taste in music till they realized I only listened to tracks from guitar hero."

ye, also kid named neil (hes such a annoying idiot) only has guitar hero songs, one day he came in and it blew my top he goes "hey, u think ur good at guitar, i found a band tht can play 100 notes a second" (in not over exagerating, thts wut he said) "i chuckle, and say o ye? which" "dragonforce, through the fire and flames" i blew up at him, "dragonforce couldnt outplace a cat with one paw....(some other stuff of how much dragonforce sucks, and u could be the nerdiest kid for only haveing dragonforce songs)i then go on to say, any red talking cat (with 2 paws) can wiggle about the fretboard, a good musician plays msucily, not just wiggling around like a chicken w/o a head" he comes in the next day and says i found a better song! the devil came down to georgia....here we go...

i love this topic. i bought guitar hero and rockband for my 3 girls
and they love it. my youngest sings and the two older ones take turns
on drums and guitar. the drums need to be sync'd to your tv so they
arent unresponsive. it's said if you can play the drums in rockband
on expert you might as well play drums for real. i joke with my cousin
at work all the time about playing guitar hero. he's one of those ppl
who hates the game and can't stand ppl who talk about playing songs on it
i'd come into work and say i ripped through the bark at the moon solo
the night before and he'd have a hissy fit....lmao.
one day i made a cardboard cutout of a guitar hero guitar and taped it
to his toolbox and he freaked. i'd walk around the shop and play air
guitar on it and he would just go into a rant.

i can't remember which disk it's from but i have a fully modded ps2
and about 10 custom made guitar hero disks with about 200 tracks that
were never on the originals, so it could be on one of those. i tend
to forget not everyone has a modded ps2.
