post count

Props to the admin for removing the post count.

No, I think it should stay, as it helps to show whether someone is new to the forum.

I agree that posting just to boost one's post count is stupid though.

also id like to knwo when ppl joined, with my 3 year old memory, i kinda forgot when i started, i know for a fact tht i was playing guitar for like a week when i joined this site, would also show if som1 was new and could eliminate post count.

I agree, although you still have the count when someone posts, but it's not in such a competitive form. So people wont post a lot of stupid shit just to get their name to the top of the list. Just my opinion but I think it is a step in the right direction to get this site back to where it should be.

personally i didnt find the post count thing that much of an issue.

only one word posts or pointless off topic things really get on my nerves.

I think it should stay, just so we know how many posts we all have. Just people should stop being competitive, it's stupid. Not like we are gonna get a prize or something.

A thing that shows when we joined would be cool too, I wanna know what date I joined. Hehe

I think it should be taken from the threads aswell. I'd have all the counters taken away myself. Maybe have a join date there instead.

Or a rank actually. Only a few differen ranks so after a certain point nothing else happens. Then you can tell who has posted frequantly without any specific leaders.

Maybe now, that the post count wars are over, we will start to see the overall quality of each post rise... I assume this was foremost in the thoughts of the admin when deciding to make these changes, since there's been a lot of pointless, ignorant babble on this site these days, rather than the sharing, and advancement of musical knowledge that prompted me to join.

Another thing relating to quality of posts... up above. Why are you guys trying to claim credit? It happened before to a larger extent with a bunch of people swearing the online band was their idea but why does it matter?

If it's a good enough idea, it doesn't matter if you thought of it someone else would have probably thought of it in the end anyway. It's like people just want to be better than other people around here(I'm not referring to bodombeachterror mind, since his was a joke).

Seems like I'm the only one with the post count still there(from the "active" users). BTW, this is my 123. Couldn't make it to 1234, but what the heck....

I think I'm the first to sign up from the ones you mentioned, but MightyDave, Afro Raven and Soy.El.Che were here before me, and they were very very active at that time. There was also this other guy JeremyLangford but I guess he quit soon after. I also remember this girl that signed up and made some posts. I think she was from New Zealand or something...

Well the Paerdevejg was from Finnland (if I'm not mistaken) so it could also the name of a band or something.
And Pascus, I think he was from Holland, and he said his name was actually Pascal but they did this think with his friends, adding "us" at the end of their name to make it sound Latin. It must be really hard if your name was Anna, lol.
