Does any one know of a band that deserves more publicity in their scene than they get..
i think as far as screamo goes the band Upon Beauty Rests (www.purevolume.com/uponbeautyrests)
is awesome but that don't like ever get publicized for anything i guess that probably has something to do with the fact that the were(may still technically are?) Indie

On the home page if you put the cursor on a topic it shows the url at the bottom of the page. Then the number is on the end of the url.

Right on, I personally like some underground stuff like Coheed & Cambria and Buckethead but thanks to Guitar Hero they're more mainstream so aside from that I'd say Paul Gilberts work never fails to amaze me thankfully he's not to popular.

I think Porcupine Tree should get a lot more recognition than they do, although I like it how very few people have heard of them.

Paul Gilbert is not popular? I thought he was pretty well known but then again, rock is not popular in general. Fastball is one of my favorite bands. They had their 15 minutes of fame but they play radio worthy songs. DiamondHead is probably the most underrated Metal band and so is Saxon. I listened to the White Stripes before they became popular (Sympathy for the Record Industry 1998) and I never believed they would get popular. I cant think of many bands that are in the spotlight that really deserve the attention theyre getting.

I was talking about this with my ex-bands drummer the other day.
All the amazing guitarists like Jimi Hendrixs/Tom Morello and (in mine and hers opinion) Noddles from The Offspring, Either have Short Sightedness/poor upbringing/mental or behavor problem.

I have no interest in becoming famous. If I could play guitar for a band with a lead singing front man to take all the attention that would be great. However I think I'm alittle to old, by the time I learn the guitar well enough to play in a band then the years it would take to be discovered. I just waited to long to learn.

@skold: Who is your connection?

I have no interest in being famous either. I would rather sell 100 copies of an album which in my opinion is musical gold than 10,000,000 copies of an album which is just a generic rip off.

Skold, why do you want to be famous so much?

Because I wanna be on stage at Wembley Stadium. I want that feeling of people swaying to your music as you play. Also, it seems that music is something that could make me important. I suppose a part of me has never felt important to anyone, so I guess you could so I'm trying to make up for it with my music.

A guy I know used to tour with a band (his band), and his son decided to follow in his foot-steps. Apparently, his son knows just about everyone who's anyone in the industry. I'm doing a few demos for him right now, so I'm gonna see how it goes.

LOL the girls do come flocking once they see the guitar. Maybe not flocking but youll get someones attention. I hate when theres that guy that doesent even know how to play or knows like three chords and people think he actually knows how to play. Shucks. :-(

Soy pretty much hit the nail right on the head. I don't give a shit about women, drugs, alcohol, or any of the glam. I just want that feeling that playing my music in front of people gives me.

I too want to play to the thousands, not just small clubs and shit. I mean, If we're gonna do it, why not do it big? Bloody hell.

LOL stage fright. I kind of have the same problem EMB but it is not stage fright it is more about my sloppy playing and lack of concentration sometimes.
